I’m Robert Kuncewicz. My career has grown from software engineering into product management and leadership, with more than a decade of experience across both.
A foundation in building
I studied Computing at the University of Guelph and began my professional software career at D2L, working on video learning and educational portfolios. At LumiQ, I joined a seven-person startup and led two engineers building the MVP for its move into podcast-based professional learning for accountants.
A broader product perspective
At LumiQ, I became the company’s first product manager and later VP Product Management. My work expanded from building software to shaping the roadmap, growing a product team, establishing continuous discovery, and leading a cross-functional U.S. expansion initiative.
Since then, I’ve worked on admissions technology at Kira Talent, building sustainability at Adaptis, and local-government budgeting at ClearGov. The products and customers have changed; my engineering background remains an important part of how I approach the work.
How I work
I bring technical depth into product through data and a willingness to get my hands dirty. Empathy helps me understand user needs, and ongoing discovery keeps me close to the people using the product. I prioritize ruthlessly so the important work gets attention, while helping teams move thoughtfully and quickly.
Outside the roadmap
Outside work, I enjoy snowboarding, concerts, travel, and baking. Toronto is home.
